Detailed guide

Client Documents

The signed-in client's home screen listing every quote and invoice that has been shared with their email.

Client Documents is the client's index of shared paperwork. It only ever lists documents tied to their email, so the client sees their own quotes and invoices and nothing else.

Quick summary

  • Find a specific quote or invoice by number or project.
  • Open a document to accept a quote or download an invoice.
  • Sign out when finished.

Put it into practice

  1. Confirm you are on the right session — the header shows the signed-in email and when the session expires.

Guardrails

  • Only documents shared with the signed-in email appear; there is no way to browse others' records.
  • The session expires on its own, after which the client must request a new sign-in link.
  • Empty tables ('No quotes/invoices shared yet.') mean nothing has been shared, not that something failed.
  • Visibility is scoped to the client's allowed email and the specific documents granted.
  • There are no edit controls here — the portal is read-and-respond only.

If it starts drifting

  • If an expected document is missing, confirm internally that it was shared to this exact email.
  • If the session expired, return to sign-in and request a fresh link.
  • If search hides a row, clear the search box to see the full list again.
