Detailed guide

Client Detail

The client detail page showing account information plus linked projects and commercial context.

Client Detail is where account context becomes actionable. It helps you judge history before you change or create more work.

Quick summary

  • Review linked projects before creating new work for the client.
  • Use edit navigation when the account details are wrong, not when the issue is really project-specific.

Put it into practice

  1. Start by validating client identity and ownership context before taking action. Confirm you are in the correct account so updates and project decisions stay attached to the right customer.

InteractionsClient Detail header and account summary: verify client name and key contact details.
  2. Review linked projects next to understand active delivery state before editing account details. This prevents client-level edits from masking a project-level issue.

InteractionsClient Detail: inspect the linked projects area and open active rows that look inconsistent.
    Open workflow: Projects
  3. When account data is stale, open Edit Client and apply minimal, evidence-based corrections. Keep stable identifiers intact unless a genuine legal/name change is confirmed.

InteractionsClient Detail: use Edit Client action, then update only the fields that are incorrect.
    Open workflow: Edit Client
  4. If new work is being planned, move directly to project creation from validated client context so estimates and billing start under the correct account.

InteractionsFrom Client Detail context, start the New Project workflow for this client.
    Open workflow: Create Project
  5. Finish with a consistency check: searchable name, contact values, and linked-work visibility should all align before handing off to delivery or finance teams.

InteractionsClient Detail and Clients list: re-check visible account fields and linked-work sections.

What to review

Client header

Identifies the account you are reviewing and usually exposes edit navigation.

Account details block

Shows the fields the workspace relies on for reference and documents.

Linked projects area

Lets you move from account context into active or historical delivery work.

Commercial context area

Shows the records tied to this client so you can understand the relationship beyond contact data.

Guardrails

  • If linked areas are empty, confirm the client truly has no associated records yet.
  • Commercial details may be partially hidden for users without finance or pricing access.

If it starts drifting

  • If linked work is missing, check whether it belongs to another similarly named client record before editing.
