Detailed guide

Getting Started

The welcome and onboarding screen that guides a new workspace through its first client, estimate, and quote in three steps.

Getting Started orients a brand-new workspace so the first real outcome — a sent quote — is only a few clicks away, rather than leaving new users to discover the flow alone.

Quick summary

  • Follow the three steps in order to reach a first quote.
  • Create the first project immediately.
  • Skip onboarding when you already know the workflow.

Put it into practice

  1. Read the three steps so the overall path (client → estimate → quote) is clear before you start.

InteractionsGetting Started page: review Steps 1, 2, and 3.
  2. Start the guided path by creating your first project, which also lets you add the client it belongs to.

InteractionsGetting Started page: click 'Create your first project →'.
    Open workflow: Projects
  3. Build the estimate for that project, then convert it into a quote to send to the client.

InteractionsProject workflow: create the estimate, then the quote.
    Open workflow: Estimate Workflow
  4. If you already know the app, skip onboarding and use Help later from the top-right button whenever you need it.

InteractionsGetting Started page: click 'Skip for now'.

What to review

Welcome header

Reads 'Welcome to [Workspace Name]' with the subtitle 'Let's get your first estimate out the door. It only takes three steps.'

Step 1 — Add a client & project

'Every piece of work lives inside a project, linked to a client.' This is the required foundation for everything else.

See guide: Projects

Step 2 — Build an estimate

'Work out your pricing and margin before committing to a number.'

See guide: Estimate Workflow

Step 3 — Send a quote

'Turn the approved estimate into a quote your client can accept.'

See guide: Quote Workflow

Skip for now / Create your first project

The two footer actions: 'Skip for now' (dismisses onboarding) and 'Create your first project →' (starts the guided path).

Help note

Reminds you: 'You can revisit help for any page at any time using the Help button in the top right.'

Guardrails

  • A client and project must exist before an estimate can be built, so Step 1 cannot be skipped in practice.
  • Onboarding is guidance only; skipping it does not disable any feature.
  • The Help button remains available on every page, so nothing here is a one-time-only opportunity.
  • Getting Started is aimed at the owner or first admin setting the workspace up.
  • Creating clients, projects, estimates, and quotes each require the relevant permissions.

If it starts drifting

  • If you cannot build an estimate, confirm you completed Step 1 (a client and project exist).
  • If onboarding keeps reappearing, use 'Skip for now' to dismiss it.
  • If you need help later, use the Help button in the top right rather than looking for this page again.
