Detailed guide

Settings

Workspace-wide operational defaults used across the app and generated documents.

Settings holds the workspace defaults that many workflows quietly depend on. Change it carefully because it reaches far.

Quick summary

  • Review settings before debugging odd estimate, quote, or invoice defaults elsewhere.

Put it into practice

  1. Start by confirming which workspace-wide default needs adjustment and why. Settings changes should be tied to a specific operational outcome.

InteractionsSettings page: review current defaults across company and financial sections before editing.
  2. Update only the target fields and keep related defaults internally consistent, especially currency and financial values.

InteractionsSettings form: edit required fields and currency selector where appropriate.
  3. Save settings and confirm downstream pages reflect expected default behavior.

InteractionsSettings form: click Save, then verify behavior in estimate, quote, and invoice flows.
    Open workflow: Estimate Workflow
  4. If unexpected behavior remains, re-check whether issue is record-level data rather than global defaults.

InteractionsCompare Settings defaults against affected project/commercial records.
    Open workflow: Invoice Workflow

What to review

Settings form

Contains the shared company, financial, and operational defaults used elsewhere in the app.

Currency selector

Choose the primary workspace currency carefully because it affects how money is displayed and reasoned about.

Save action

Persists the default behavior the rest of the workspace will inherit.

Guardrails

  • Global defaults should be complete and internally consistent before save.
  • Settings changes are usually admin-only because they affect the whole workspace.

If it starts drifting

  • If a downstream document behaves unexpectedly, check whether the workspace default is the real cause before editing individual records.
